Rabbit Pellets are for Rabbits

Don't get lured by cheaper prices and buy rabbit pellets for your chinchilla. Only chinchilla pellets have been designed and manufactured with the unique dietary requirements of chinchillas in mind.

The other pellets can work in a pinch, but they are designed to fatten up the rabbits. If fed to chinchillas for an extended period of time, your chin will get fat.

Chinchillas fed these pellets will become lethargic and females will produce fewer and fewer young and eventually be unable to get pregnant.

Mixing rabbit pellets with chinchilla pellets is also not a cost-saving solution as the outcome will remain the same.
